The 2020 Capital Campaign concluded on November 20, 2020. We raised $195,000 in member loans and $6,290 in donations. Unfortunately, we fell far short of our goal of $800,000 in member loans and $50,000 in donations needed to finance our $1.6 million co-op store. Consequently, we returned the member loans to lenders in February and returned $1,550 in donations as requested by some donors.
We appreciate the hard work of all our campaign volunteers and the commitment of our lenders and donors. The campaign demonstrated significant financial support for a co-op store in the Silverton community. What we raised, however, was not enough to finance the store we had planned for.
We are exploring alternatives to Food Co-op Initiative's model of store development that we have been following for the last four years. Join us and make our vision for a food co-op in Silverton a reality.
Visit our Board in Session Page for a campaign summary, reflections and next steps. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Co-op with questions and ideas—we want to hear from you!
