Land Acknowledgement
We honor this land and its original inhabitants, from time immemorial, the Santiam band of Kalapuya, and the Santiam band of Molalla people, who were the first, and continue to be, managers of foods on this landscape. Both of these Tribes had reservations on the south side of the Santiam negotiated during the 1851 unratified treaties. They were later removed from their homelands to the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation. Their descendants live on as Grand Ronde Tribal members today, carrying on the traditions and cultures of their ancestors.
